Neighborhoods Ready for School Funding Opportunity

First 5 Alameda County will award up to four grants of up to $470,000 each for an initial contract term of 16 months.

The Neighborhoods Ready for School grant is designed to address barriers and disparities by building a network of early childhood services and community supports through a neighborhood-based approach. We aim to:

  • build infrastructure in neighborhoods to provide places for families to learn, play and achieve their goals

  • increase neighborhood-level coordination to provide a comprehensive menu of resources to support family protective factors, build community, and increase children's school readiness

  • increase family leadership and civic engagement opportunities

Congratulations to the eight organizations that have been invited to submit full proposals for the First 5 Alameda County Neighborhoods Ready for School (NRFS) strategy.
