Neighborhoods Ready for School Funding Opportunity

First 5 Alameda County will award up to four grants of up to $470,000 each for an initial contract term of 16 months.

The Neighborhoods Ready for School grant is designed to address barriers and disparities by building a network of early childhood services and community supports through a neighborhood-based approach. We aim to:

  • build infrastructure in neighborhoods to provide places for families to learn, play and achieve their goals

  • increase neighborhood-level coordination to provide a comprehensive menu of resources to support family protective factors, build community, and increase children's school readiness

  • increase family leadership and civic engagement opportunities

The program overview, eligibility, and funding details are now available for download

The Letter of Intent template is available here.

Letters of Intent are due October 20th at 5:00 p.m. and invited applications are due December 22nd.
